My name is Minna Nousiainen-Becher.
I grew up in Finland and moved to the States in 1991 with my Mother and
two sisters and my first boxer "Mafi." I started with
conformation dogs in 1989. I helped out at one boxer kennel in
Finland prior to moving here. Once living here I bred my first
Boxer "Mafi" to an American-bred boxer and got my first dog
that I worked in Schutzhund, "Ringo." In 1996 I imported
a bitch from a Finnish WORKING boxer kennel. She was called
"Kia." All through High School I helped out at an
American conformation boxer kennel here in the
States - Bentbrook Boxers in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. I worked
at a boarding and grooming kennel for over six years as a groomer and
kennel helper. I got married and now have three children. We
train police K9 dogs by the name Champion K9 (site coming soon). I have handler-owner
trained 3 boxers from zero to SchH3, IPO3, and currently I am working
with my 4th boxer - this is "Oona", my "Kia" dog's
daughter, "Essi's daughter. I am also involved a bit with my
husband's work training K9s.
My occupation is a Dog Trainer (I handle some of our up coming police K9 dogs and I train and title client sport dogs, as well as my own personal dogs and pet dogs with issues), I also enjoy grooming dogs, and hope to re open my grooming shop soon.
I am also the President and the Founder of East
Wisconsin Working Boxer Klub.

My husband, Chris Becher, was introduced to the world of
Schutzhund by me with my then local club - the Fox Valley Police &
Schutzhund Club - in December, 200 and he started training my then 3
year-old male boxer, "Pomo." In 2001, they as a
team accomplished the BH at the North Central Regional
Championship. They also got their TR1 at the USA-BOX Championships
that same year! Chris was voted the best improved handler that
year by the Fox Valley Police & Schutzhund Club. Since then he
has put a SchH1 on "Pomo" and a BH and SchH1 on his dog,
"Diesel." Chris has learned to be a very good
helper. He is safe and has great stamina. He is a NATIONAL
level helper with the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. He is
the Main helper/decoy and Training Director of the East
Wisconsin Working Boxer Klub.
Chris is very well-known and respected among the Police K-9 handler
teams in Wisconsin and nearby states. He has exceptional ability to
work Police dogs and truly enjoys working with the handler teams to
better their partners. Chris has attended the
WLECHA Conference (Law enforcement K9 training conference) as a teaching
decoy in 2007, 2008 and 2009. On the schutzhund field Chris completed a
BH through SchH3 in 14 months with his dog "Sylkiie" - our
Dutch Shepherd which he co-owns with our friend, Bea T. Chris is now also working towards his SchH titles with his young male boxer Kapi who shows very promising potential to top level competition.
We are both very dedicated members of the O.G.
Bierstadt Schutzhund Club - a United Schutzhund Clubs of America
affiliated training club - and the East
Wisconsin Working Boxer Klub - a USA-BOX club.
Besides the 2 clubs above, we also belong to the following clubs:
the United States Boxer Association (USA-BOX), Winnegamie Dog Club (WDC),
the Finnish Boxer Club (SBY), the Finnish Working Boxer Club (BB-Klubi),
the Malinois Club (AWMA), Deutscher Verband der Gebrauchshundsportvereine (DGV) and the United Schutzhund Clubs of America (SchH
USA).
We believe German/European-line Boxers are true working dogs.
Their ability to do the work is proven. With the right dog you can
accomplish just about anything! We also compete in AKC events
(Obedience, Agility and Tracking). We are also starting to breed
Dutch Shepherds.
We breed our dogs in a small home setting. We really go far with
our pups in socializing. Having three kids itself is a good
thing. We do biosensor testing at an early age. Our pups get
exposed to amost everything - elevators, tarps, tunnels, different
surfaces, camping and swimming if weather permits, etc. They are
well-exposed to car rides and seeing lots of people and places. We
are one of the only BHOT (Breeder, Handler, Owner Trained) boxer
breeders in the country.
Our pups are practically housebroken when they go to their new
homes. We get up during the night to let them out by four
weeks. at age 5-6 weeks, we separate our pups at night; first in
two's and then separately. When they are ready to leave they won't
miss each other as much. We also tattoo and/or mircochip our pups.
If you are interested in our pups, please contact us.
